Over the last month, the Farm Mind team has received some frequently asked questions. because of this, we added a frequently asked questions section to our landing page and I am writing out the current FAQs with their coresponding answers in this blog post. We broke the questions in to thre catagories, those involving platform features, questions about data and security, and operational questions. Feel free to scroll to which ever section is most related to your interests about FarmMind.org.
Features:
Farm Mind has many useful features, and here are some of the questions we have been getting about the platform's capabilities.
Question: Can I trust the AI output of the Virtual Ag expert?
Answer: FarmMind ensures trust by providing citations throughout each answer so you can check each source of information. Every reference links directly back to its source in the original document, so you can always quickly verify accuracy.
Question: Can I upload handwritten documents or documents made in 1961 with a typewriter?
Answer: Yes, FarmMind can accurately extract data from scanned lease documents, including handwritten or upside down information. If you can read it, so can FarmMind!
Question: Can I collaborate with my consultant, grower, scouts, or other farming teams in FarmMind?
Answer: Yes! FarmMind supports team collaboration with role-based permissions, allowing you to share access to files (like recommendations and field notes), fields, and more with agronomists, consultants, and farm managers.
Question: Does FarmMind work offline?
Answer: FarmMind is actively working on making as many of its features work offline as possible. However, right now, FarmMind requires an internet connection for AI features and document processing. However, you can view previously loaded data and reports offline, and premium users can download the plant, insect, and fungi identification models onto their phone for offline use.

Data, Privacy, and Security:
FarmMind is an independent company built to put farmers and those who help they Farm Smarter first. Our platform was built with the philosophy that every grower's data is secure, protected, and is not sold to or accessible to third parties.
Question: Where is my data stored, and how does FarmMind treat my data?
Answer: Your data is stored in secure, encrypted cloud servers with enterprise-grade infrastructure. As an independent company, FarmMind believes that you own your data, and is committed to protecting every individual user's data and does not use user data for anything other than providing each individual user the best capabilities and experience possible.
Question: Who has access to my farm data?
Answer: Only you and those you explicitly grant access can view your data. FarmMind does not sell or share user data with any third parties and FarmMind employees only access your data when you explicitly request support or otherwise in assisting your use of the platform's powerful farm managment capabilites.
Question: Does FarmMind train its AI models on my uploaded documents?
Answer: No. Your documents are never used to train FarmMind's AI models. Everything you upload stays private and isolated to your organization. FarmMind believes that you own your data and implements practices to ensure its privacy and security.
Question: Can I delete my data?
Answer: Yes, you have full control over your data. You can delete documents, data, or your entire account at any time from your settings.
Question: How is my data handled during ingestion and processing?
Answer: All data handling is performed securely within FarmMind's environment, ensuring your documents remain protected throughout processing.
Question: What security certifications does FarmMind have?
Answer: We are currently working toward SOC 2 Type II certification to ensure our platform meets the highest security standards.
Operations:
Our goal is to make the Farm Mind Platform as easy and intuitive to use as possible across desktop, ipad, and mobile applications.
Question: Can I upload my fields from other software like FarmWorks?
Answer: Yes! FarmMind supports uploading your TIFF, GeoJSON, Shapefiles, or field boundaries and information in other file types from other mapping software platforms. You can also draw your field boundaries directly in FarmMind to add to your existing fields. Question: What file formats does FarmMind support?
Answer: FarmMind supports PDF, JPG, PNG, TIFF for scanned documents, plus common formats like DOCX, XLSX, and CSV for structured data.
Question: How long does onboarding take?
Answer: Onboarding can be done just a couple of minutes or may take a couple hours depending on how your farming data is currently organized. Our team is happy to help get you set up if you have any questions!
Question: How do I get started with FarmMind?
Answer: Request a demo above or feel free to sign up and start your free trial, upload your first documents, take your first field notes, and start asking questions of FarmerAI! Our onboarding tasks can help you get familiar with the platform's features.
Question: What happens after my free trial ends?
Answer: You can choose to upgrade to a paid plan to continue using FarmMind. Your data remains safe and accessible during the transition.
